The Crestwood Homes Association was founded in 1922. It is the oldest homes association in Kansas City, Missouri and one of the oldest in the United States. Located adjacent to the UMKC campus, the neighborhood is bounded by Oak, Holmes, and 56th Streets and a line parallel to 53rd Street at the intersection of Locust and Cherry Streets. Crestwood includes 159 homes, attractively landscaped traffic islands, the entry points and pedestrian way (Crestwood Way – a.k.a. the Bunny Trail) and two private parks for use by Crestwood residents. Arched limestone entry markers, curved, tree-lined streets and gracious homes retain their historic charm in this urban setting.
