Security Advice

By admin | September 17, 2007

Basic Rules For Crime Prevention
Keep your garage doors closed. The Kansas City Police Department requests that we adhere to this for our own safety and personal security. Lock your windows and doors. Install deadbolt locks. Be sure your doors fit the frames and that the hinges cannot be removed from the outside. Keep your property neat and clean at all times. All grass is to be kept mowed regularly and shrubbery trimmed. When on vacation, ask your neighbors to pick up your mail and your newspapers or have these services stopped temporarily. Watch your neighbor’s property and alert them to suspicious activity or call 911. The Kansas City Police Department requests that homeowners turn on porch lights during the evening hours. They feel a well lit home can be a deterrent to crime.
